As part of the Mayor’s Prize for Entrepreneurship powered by the Albuquerque Community Foundation, WESST announces the launch of the Creative P.I.E. (Practice, Innovation & Enterprise) Program designed to support the existing and emerging community of creative entrepreneurs in Albuquerque.
Creative P.I.E. offers a menu of customized workshops, quarterly peer networking events, and individualized consultations for start-up and existing creative entrepreneurs who want to build a sustainable business. As part of the Creative P.I.E. program, WESST is holding several upcoming workshops and networking events for creative entrepreneurs:
Etsy Craft Entrepreneurship™ – A workshop series that helps artists and craft makers establish an online business to sell products to a wider market and earn extra income. The sessions will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24 through Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Applications for the next session are still being accepted at http://www.wesst.org.
Well Woman Drinks – In collaboration with Well Woman Life, WESST will be the host location for the April 20 event (held from 5:30-8:30pm).
Creative Mornings Albuquerque – In collaboration with Creative Startups, WESST will be the host location for the May 20 Creative Mornings event, held from 9:00-10:00 am.
NM Lawyers for the Arts – WESST will host a legal clinic for creative entrepreneurs in collaboration with the NM Lawyers for the Arts. Volunteer attorneys will answer basic legal questions about copyrights, intellectual property, etc. Date for the clinic is TBA.
This week and next week, WESST will also hold a Business Canvas for Creatives workshop in conjunction with ArtSpark, designed to help creatives develop a sustainable, viable business model for their creative enterprise. This week’s workshop is sold out, but more workshops will be offered in 2016 as part of the Creative P.I.E. program.
