VFW Post 6917 donates to Honor Flight of Southern New Mexico’s Adopt-a- Veteran Program

A local VFW post really pulls out the stops to help a WWII veteran make a trip back to Washington, D.C. to see the memorials later this fall. Members of VFW Post 6917 in Las Cruces have adopted a WWII Army veteran from Las Cruces, making it possible for him to participate in this year’s Mission 10 flight to Washington, D.C.. Raul Sanchez, VFW Post Commander, Beth Miller, Auxiliary President and Mary Tutza, Post Quartermaster (l to r) present the check to Honor Flight of Southern New Mexico (HFSNM) board members Kathy Olson, Valerie Cano and Arnold Diaz (l to r).

HFSNM is part of the national Honor Flight network that escorts WWII, Korean and Vietnam War veterans at no cost to them to Washington, D.C. to be honored at their memorials. We thank and honor all veterans for their sacrifices. Thank you VFW for helping to make this a mission to remember!
