The Maxwell Museum launched its Traveling Trunk program to offer more opportunities for learning about history, science, culture and art. Up to now, the museum’s trunk program was available primarily in schools. The grant allowed the museum to expand the project to take more trunks to new venues, including the New Mexico State Fair. Additionally, it was able to add a new digital component, bringing history and technology together for new audiences. The project has already served more than 1,400 participants and has been implemented in 43 area schools.
