TJ Maxx Donates $5,000 to Galloping Grace Youth Ranch’s Jr. Leadership Program Helping to Support Peer Leadership and EducationGalloping Grace

Galloping Grace Youth Ranch (GGYR) is a nonprofit organization that educates children about farming and sustainable practices through experiences growing crops and raising animals on a working ranch.  GGYR prides itself on being a place where kids lead kids while learning how to raise animals, grow crops, explore the outdoors, and enrich the community.

On Saturday, September 12th, TJ Maxx presented GGYR with a check for $5,000 as a grant to help fund GGYR’s Junior Leadership Program.  The Junior Leadership Program provides a fantastic opportunity for local kids, ages 12-17, to work on a sustainable farm/ranch and to be empowered to lead, teach, work and play alongside other peers.  Each summer, GGYR is open to the public and our Junior Leaders teach children and their families about the practices of our ranch.  On a daily basis, they have the responsibility of preparing the ranch for the day’s activities, welcoming and leading visitors, caring for animals, tending to the crops, and simply having fun with the participating Summer Session guests.  Junior Leaders also teach GGYR’s Preschool Summer Camp participants to care for and feed animals and incorporate hands-on learning with science, math, literature, writing and art activities for the students.

Last year, 72 Junior Leaders were served by the program. In turn, the Junior Leaders served over 2,000 children and their families.  The donation from TJ Maxx allows GGYR to continue to support this amazing program.  For more information on GGYR and the Junior Leadership program or on how you can help support the program with a donation, please visit www.ggyr.org.
