SVEDC launches new, bilingual entrepreneurial network on March 5th.
During the past ten years, The South Valley Economic Development Center (SVEDC) has successfully created over 350 jobs and has returned $8.2 million in payroll back to the local economy. SVEDC is now home to SVEN, the South Valley Entrepreneurial Network, a dynamic and collaborative group of South Valley community members and small business owners who work together to build a cohesive and dynamic business community that supports one another, dreams together, and works for a stronger South Valley.
SVEN will launch this week, Thursday March 5, at 9am with the new, weekly entrepreneur-focused event called Taza. Each week, Taza will feature a new topic or theme and a presentation by a local entrepreneur, followed by open discussion, problem-solving and conversation. Taza is fully bilingual and free coffee will be provided at each event. The launch of Taza will focus on how to attract more customers to South Valley businesses.
The launch of SVEN and Taza will feature Gloria Orona of Orona’s Ranch: Horse Facilities & Farrier Service. Gloria will share her story of entrepreneurial success in the South Valley. The South Valley Entrepreneurial Network is designed to provide information on how the community can access new resources and opportunities available through the SVEDC and beyond. Taza is always free.
A special thanks to SVEN sponsors: the Mexican Consulate, the Hispano Chamber of Commerce, SVEDC, Bernalillo County, South Valley SBDC, and 1 Million Cups. If you are interested in presenting or have additional questions please email SVEN@svedc.org or visit https://www.facebook.com/tasaporsven.
