Hi, I’m Sarah. I’m 12 years old, and I’m the owner of SLSWEETS. SLSWEETS is an online cupcakery, that supports many charities by donating all of the profits to charity and raising awareness. I came across Booster while watching TV last year. It sounded interesting and I thought it was a cool way to raise money for charity. My aunt has Huntington’s Disease, so I really wanted to support the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, in hopes of finding a cure.
With the help of Booster, last year, I designed 2 shirts and sold them to raise money to fight Hereditary Diseases (this year, the money raised will go to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America). I promoted the Booster on my mom’s Facebook page, talked to leaders of HDYO (Huntington’s Disease Youth Organization), HDSA (Huntington’s Disease Society of America) and got to know some really amazing role models. I ended up selling 129 shirts and raising over $2000!
I was and still am amazed that so many people heard about this cause and support me in fighting it. After the Booster team’s awesome help and support from everyone, I’m ready to start another Booster in hopes of raising more awareness to the cause and helping raise more money to find a cure to end Huntington’s Disease. The month of May is Huntington’s Disease Awareness Month and I would greatly appreciate the purchase of a bag. As the bag says, we’re fixing the world, one cupcake at a time, so every small effort towards this amazing cause helps. The best part of purchasing one is knowing that it can help save someone’s life.
So far, in my campaign, I have sold 81 bags and $600 in donations. Once it is added up, I have raised over $2000!!!
I hope that you would like to feature my story somehow because I would really like to raise enough money to find a cure to fight Huntington’s Disease!!!
The campaign ends at the end of this month! Thank you!
