Recipients Announced for the 2015 Great Grant Giveaway

ACFbru 029Albuquerque-The Albuquerque Community Foundation announces details for its annual meeting, the Great Grant Giveaway.  Each year the Foundation selects six nonprofit organizations who compete for $65,000 in grants.  The 3rd annual Great Grant Giveaway is Friday, March 27, 2015, 11:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. at the Hotel Albuquerque.  Each nonprofit represents a field-of-interest supported by the Foundation: Albuquerque Youth Symphony – Arts & Culture; ABQid – Economic & Workforce Development; PB&J Family Services – Education; New Mexico Water Collaborative – Environmental & Historic Preservation; Paws & Stripes – Health; Meals on Wheels of Albuquerque – Human Services.

Each of the 70 tables are given a blank check for $500, a sum made possible through donations from generous local businesses, individuals and the Foundation’s unrestricted grant dollars. After watching a short video about the organizations, table guests will decide to which of the six featured nonprofit organizations to award their table’s grant. The Foundation also started offering grant checks for individuals who wanted to show their personal support over and beyond their table grant.

NAI Maestas & Ward“We came up with this idea two year ago”, said Kelli Cooper, the Foundation’s Vice President -Philanthropic Services.  “We wanted our friends and donors to know how difficult and fun grant making is so we opened the process to everyone in the room.  Great work is being done in the nonprofit community–there are so many good organizations to fund.”

Tickets are $42 each, tables of 10 are $400.  For more information, visit albuquerquefoundation.org or call 505.883.6240.
