the 2017-2018 school year

The Albuquerque Community Foundation has 11 separate student aid programs for high school seniors to help New Mexico students attain their educational goals.

Each program is different; however, if you are…
•    New Mexico resident?
•    High school senior?
•    Planning to attend college in-state or out-of-state?
•    Planning to attend college full time or part-time?
•    Planning to attend a community college or public college/university?

 You may qualify for one or more program!  

Scholarships for High School Seniors
Deadline: Friday, March 17th, 2017
Albuquerque and New Mexico

  • Barnes W. Rose, Jr. and Eva Rose Nichol Scholarship: Providing assistance to an Albuquerque High School graduate pursuing a bachelor’s degree in one of the STEM majors: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
  • Bryan Cline Memorial Scholarship: Providing assistance to an Eldorado High School senior varsity soccer player. (One male and one female).
  • James Ledwith Memorial Scholarship: Providing assistance to students for post-secondary education in pursuit of a life dream with hope, faith and courage in spite of facing hardship. This scholarship is for students who are pursuing a professional goal and have faced or facing adversity.
  • Kiwanis Club of Albuquerque Scholarship: Providing assistance to graduating students with strong community service experience and strong academic records from an Albuquerque metro area high school (includes Bernalillo, Sandoval, Valencia or Torrance Counties).
  • Charlie and Kathy Barnhart and Ken Haynes, Jr. Manufactured Housing Association Scholarship: Providing assistance to New Mexico graduating high school senior residing in a manufactured home.
  • Notah Begay III Scholar Athlete Scholarship: Providing assistance to Native American athletes attending college in-state or out-of-state. Awards are made to New Mexico high school graduating seniors demonstrating strong academic achievement and participation in any varsity level team sport.
  • Robby Baker Memorial Scholarship: Providing assistance to a La Cueva High School graduating senior who has a language learning or other reading disability.
  • Woodcock Family Education Scholarship: Providing assistance to Albuquerque metro area high school graduating seniors of exceptional promise in the fields of science and math.
  • Carl F. Scott Scholarship for Tucumcari Lodge No. 27 A.F. & A.M.: Providing assistance to New Mexico residents from Quay County to continue their post-secondary education. Applications are considered for graduating high school seniors beginning their college education.
  • Youth in Foster Care Scholarship: Providing assistance to young adults who have been in the New Mexico foster care system who want to develop a marketable skill or continue their education at a post-secondary school.


Qualify for Financial Aid?
Apply to the Sussman-Miller
Educational Assistance Fund

Providing assistance to students to further their education in an undergraduate program who need financial assistance to address the ‘gap’ in his or her financial aid packages.
Deadline: Monday, April 24th, 2017
For graduating high school seniors who will attend any out-of-state college or an in-state private school.

Deadline: Tuesday, June 27th, 2017
For graduating high school seniors who will attend a New Mexico public college/university and any student currently attending college in-state or out-of-state.
